The project involves extending the track towards Værnes, adjusting track 2 and establishing a new track 3. A new island platform is being built, with a lift, shelter and benches, while the existing side platform is being upgraded.

End: 2027
A new, wide underpass is also being established, connecting Stjørdal town centre with Tangen. The underpass is designed for safe and efficient movement between the platforms and through the area.
The project also includes new water and wastewater infrastructure, a snow-melting system, power supply and a district heating substation.
