Baneservice has signed a contract with Fornebubanen for track superstructure and technical installations on the new metro line between Majorstuen and Fornebu in Oslo, Norway.
The contract is worth approximately NOK 630 million excluding VAT.
The contract, K3A superstructure and technical installations in tunnel, covers track works, electrical works and technical installations on the section between Majorstuen and Fornebu base.

A large multidisciplinary project
Work will begin in autumn 2026. For Baneservice, this will be a large multidisciplinary project in which several disciplines will work closely together throughout its execution.

We bring extensive experience from large and complex railway and tramway projects, and we are now beginning to plan a sound and efficient execution. Good cooperation between the disciplines, with our partners and with Fornebubanen will be important throughout the project," says Ole Christian Rognlien, project manager at Baneservice.
The work will be carried out in cooperation with RailCom, a subsidiary of Baneservice. RailCom will be responsible for the track works and traction power in the project.
"Fornebubanen is a project many people have heard about and followed for a long time, which makes it especially motivating to contribute our expertise as the line is now completed. RailCom has extensive experience as a supplier to Sporveien and brings solid expertise and experience from work on the metro into the project," says Eirik Frøysa, project manager at RailCom.
New metro line between Oslo and Fornebu
Fornebubanen will be around eight kilometres long and will link Fornebu and Bærum more closely with Oslo City Centre through a new metro connection.
For Baneservice and RailCom, planning and preparations are now getting under way ahead of the start of works in autumn 2026.
