KL/AT Nesbyen - Haugastøl
Start: 2024
End: 2027
On behalf of Bane NOR, Baneservice is carrying out a complete renewal and upgrade of the catenary system between Nesbyen and Haugastøl, a 90 kilometre stretch of the Bergen Line.
The project is being delivered as a turnkey contract, with Multiconsult as subcontractor for design. The work is divided into 10 autotransformer (AT) sections and includes, among other things, the installation of around 2,200 catenary foundations, 1,900 catenary masts, 16 autotransformers and 115,000 metres of new catenary.
All railway engineering disciplines are involved in the project, and most of the work is carried out at night to reduce the impact on train traffic. Baneservice uses a foundation-setting train (FST) for drilling and installing foundations, while the majority of the work is catenary work, carried out using catenary maintenance wagons, among other methods.
The modernisation of the power supply system on the Bergen Line is scheduled for completion in December 2027.
