Baneservice AS has signed an agreement to acquire the Swedish company Elektrosignal Infra AB and the Finnish company Ratatek Oy from Expin Group, part of the Swedish Ratos group.
The need for maintenance and renewal of railways and tramways is growing rapidly across the Nordics, and investment is increasing. The acquisition is an important step in Baneservice's long-term strategy for further growth. With a strong position in the Norwegian market, Baneservice will contribute broad expertise, capacity and solid delivery capability, both in Norway and in the other Nordic markets.

We are delighted to welcome Elektrosignal Infra, Ratatek and their employees to Baneservice. We are gaining a highly competent and strong specialist team. The acquisition marks an important milestone for Baneservice. We gain a broader foundation, and for our employees and clients it means greater railway engineering support and capacity, while we also see significant synergies, says Kjersti Kanne, CEO of Baneservice AS.

With its 120 employees, Elektrosignal Infra is based, and has its main operations, in the Stockholm area. The company has a solid order backlog and strong expertise in electrical work (high and low voltage), signalling, telecom and design engineering. Combined with Baneservice's experience from complex railway projects and its unique machine fleet, the parties see significant potential for further development.
The Finnish company Ratatek has 113 employees and specialises, among other things, in catenary work. A significant part of Ratatek's market is in Sweden.
The companies combined had a combined turnover of approximately SEK 600 million in 2025. Kanne adds that this lays a strong foundation for further growth.
- Together we have a better starting point for further growth. The companies will continueas independent companies with local roots and clear leadership, says Kanne.
- Becoming part of the Baneservice Group is an important step in Elektrosignal Infra's long-term development. In Baneservice we gain an experienced owner that knows the infrastructure sector well and has long experience from railway and metro projects. Baneservice also has a clear plan for Elektrosignal Infra that aligns well with our strategy, says Fredrik Häggström, CEO of Elektrosignal Infra.
The acquisition is conditional on customary approvals from the Swedish authorities.
